How to use voucher codes
Nowadays, many internet shops are releasing voucher codes, which can be used during online transactions in order to give customers an overall discount or discount on shipping costs. A voucher code is basically the exact same as a physical voucher for a physical shop, except that it comes in the form of a simple code. This means that the code can easily be found online and used by many customers.
Why voucher codes?
Usually companies only allow these codes to function for a short period of time, so the best way to go about using codes is not to search for a code for a shop that you like and intend to make a purchase from. Instead, shop around and see what codes are available first. You may then be able to make the same purchase from a different online shop with a discount code. The codes are used to promote online shops, so the codes are in no way secret or difficult to find. Online companies want as many people as possible to find and use the code, so they are often freely available either through their mailing list, newsletter or simply on the website itself.
How to find voucher codes
Rather than trying to join all the mailing lists of every online shop that you like (you will be bombarded with junk email), it’s a better idea to simply go to a website that gives lists of all the stores that are currently offering discounts and gives the relevant codes. This way you can get a good overview of all the discounts available, and make sure you’re getting the best current deal.
After you’ve got your discount code, it’s very easy to use it. Simply go to the online shop that it’s for, and look around until you find what you want to purchase (unless the voucher code is only for one specific item, in which case choose that item). Add it to your basket – it will still show as full price – and go to the checkout. Every online store has a different checkout process, so for some of them you will be able to type in your voucher code immediately, and for some of them you will need to actually enter your payment details first. Don’t worry, there will be a point for you to enter your discount code, and if it doesn’t come up then you can always cancel the transaction before it’s final.
If you enter your code and it does not give you the discount you were expecting, cancel the transaction. You can then email the website’s customer services to find out why the code gave you the wrong discount. You may have been given the wrong code, and simply need a different one, or the website’s discount may have been advertised wrongly.
Nine times out of ten, however, the voucher code will give you the discount you expected and everything will work smoothly. To get an idea of the discounts available right now, simply browse the net for websites that gather many different websites’ voucher codes together.
